How Smart Keys Work

Smart keys, also called proximity fobs, communicate with your vehicle via short-range, encrypted signals. When the key is within range, the doors unlock automatically, and the engine can start with the push of a button. When the connection fails, only an expert locksmith can reprogram or replace the key correctly.

When to Request Service

• The car fails to detect your key
• The fob doesn’t unlock or start the engine
• Buttons or sensors stop responding
• The key was lost, stolen, or damaged
• You need a duplicate for backup
